Wine O’Clock Wednesday: Full Pull Wines

Do you want to learn more about the amazing wines of Washington state? Do you want it to be easy, a good experience, and not in a classroom? If so, I have a special tip for you on this Wine O’clock Wednesday. The tip begins with three little words: Full Pull Wines.

Launched only 18 months ago, Full Pull Wines is a unique wine retailer tucked away in a warehouse in SoDo. Owner Paul Zitarelli sells quality Washington state wines through an email list. Every email tells a well-written and passionate story; it’s a compelling learning experience from the comfort of your home.

Sometimes Paul’s stories are about the wines, the winery or the winemaker; sometimes he writes about the land, the grapes, the farmers or the terroir. He tries to convey some of the experiences that you would get if you visited the growers or the winemakers.

His emails arrive several times a week with the stories and offers of high quality wine; sometimes there are pre-releases or hard-to-find gems. Each email contains two prices — the regular retail price and a TPU (Thursday pick up) price — it’s less expensive if you agree to pick up your wine on Thursdays, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the warehouse.

Thursdays also promise good times and good tastes. When you arrive at the warehouse, you can sample different wines and chat with Paul and some of the other friendly folks who hang out there.

Full Pull’s business model has worked so well, its email list has quadrupled since launching in October 2009. In those 18 months, Paul offered more than 350 outstanding Washington wines — bottles ranging from $8 to $150.

All you have to do is go to Full Pull’s web site, sign up, learn and enjoy!
