Flashback to the 90′s with the vibrant sounds of this eclectic band.
Spanning over ten years, the Counting Crows’ dynamic sounds and brilliant lyrics have created the perfect soundtrack to the American life.
Their 2012 tour visiting Seattle on April 13 at the Showbox will feature a blend of cover songs from their soon to be released Underwater Sunshine (or what we did on our summer vacation) as well as the classic hits that their fans have come to know and love, including singles such as ‘A long December,’ ‘Sullivan Street,’ and ‘Catapult’.
Hailing from the Bay Area, the Counting Crows, consisting of Adam Duritz (vocals), David Bryson (guitar), Charles Gilingham (keyboards), Dan Vickery (guitar), Jim Bogio (Drums), and Millard Powers (bass), began their music career with the debut release of August and Everything in 1993. Influenced by classic artists like Van Morrison, R.E.M, Bob Dylan and Nirvana, the first single ‘Mr. Jones’ quickly topped the charts and created a steadfast loyalty that continues to this day. They have sold more then 20 million records worldwide and received multiple Golden Globe and Grammy Award nominations.
In 2004, the band’s single ‘Accidentally in Love’ earned them critical acclaim. In addition to topping the adult 40 tracks on the US billboard at number 3, the single received Golden Globe and Grammy nominations for Best Song, and Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
In April the Counting Crows will release their independently produced Underwater Sunshine. This unique album features some of the bands favorite songs performed by artists stretching from the early 60’s to present day.
