What’s Hot: BOOST Dance Festival

A showcase of talent, art and athleticism swings into the Emerald City.   

Dance professionals, enthusiasts and fans from around the U.S. will gather in Seattle for a mega dance-off at the third annual BOOST Dance Festival. Whether you’re a beginner or trained professional, this double weekend series of instructional classes and performances will have something for everyone.

From contemporary ballet classes to advanced modern, to physical theatre/improvisation and dramatic stage performances – BOOST will give dancers an opportunity to showcase their talent, sharpen their skills, learn new techniques and network with fellow dancers and the dance community.

Who: BOOST will host 10 local choreographers and two guest dancers who’ll teach and perform. All levels of dancers can enroll in these classes where they’ll learn a variety of techniques.

Instructors and performers include artists and dance companies from Ashani Dance, Catherine Cabeen and Company, Redd Legg Dance, Northwest Dance Syndrome, Keneniah Bystrom and Victoria McConnell, Serendip Dance, Markeith Wiley and Calie Swedberg, badmarmar dance, Jeanette Male, and Project Tremolo.

Where: Erickson Theater, located at 1524 Harvard Ave., Seattle.

When: The festivities will swing into action on March 16 to 17 and will continue the following weekend, from March 23 to 24. The BOOST Master Class Series runs from March 14 to 24. Each event time varies, check their schedule for more information.

How much: Tickets cost $18 per evening. Previous BOOST festivals sold out, so buy tickets early. The Master Class Series costs $10 and must be registered via email.
