Join two accomplished chefs for a night of culinary conversation.
With all the culinary diversity available in the area, food lovers in Seattle are pretty lucky as it is, but Seattleites are about to get even luckier when two food Gods grace us with their presence.
Seattle Theatre Group presents An Evening with Anthony Bourdain & Eric Ripert at The Paramount Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 11, during which the two chefs will speak about the restaurant business from both ends of the spectrum. While Bourdain and Ripert have very different careers and philosophies, they each bring a wealth of information and experience to the table, and you will no doubt leave with a much more informed look at the culinary world.
Bourdain is probably best known for his Emmy-winning Travel Channel shows, “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” and “The Layover,” in which he travels the world tasting every kind of edible morsel available, as questionable as some may seem. Having studied at the Culinary Institute of America, Bourdain lends his culinary expertise as a judge on “Top Chef.” He has run kitchens at New York City’s Supper Club, One Fifth Avenue, and Sullivan’s. Bourdain is a native New Yorker, and currently resides in New York City with his wife and daughter.
Ripert also serves as a regular guest judge on Bravo’s “Top Chef,” and hosts his own Emmy- and James Beard-award winning PBS TV series called “Avec Eric.” He has written four cookbooks, including Avec Eric (2010), On the Line (2008), A Return to Cooking (2002) and Le Bernardin—Four Star Simplicity (1998). Ripert chairs City Harvest’s Food Council, which is a New York-based food rescue organization that feeds more than 300,000 people each week. In addition to this, Ripert is co-owner of the New York restaurant Le Bernardin, which has held a four-star review from The New York Times for more than two decades.
An Evening with Anthony Bourdain & Eric Ripert takes place this Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets are available online, and it should be noted that the “Price A” ticket includes a post-show reception with Bourdain and Ripert which will feature light refreshments.
