Kelly Ogilvie

33 | Madison Park

Hometown: Seattle, Beacon Hill

Occupation: Founder and President of Quemulus, Inc.

From politics to science and technology, this clever catch has excelled in anything he sets his mind to—and his passion for entrepreneurialism and stellar resume are there to prove it.

A Seattleite through and through, Kelly has worked on a number of local, regional and national political campaigns including time spent in the Governor’s Office serving Governor Gary Locke. Prior to founding his former company, Blue Marble, as well as his latest start-up, Quemulus, Inc., Kelly worked for the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce promoting business interests in Washington State as well as at Paul Allen’s Vulcan Inc.

His latest business passion, Quemulus, Inc., is a social commerce internet firm that enables users to conduct e-commerce transactions on mobile and web devices.  Kelly started this new venture in 2011 in order to provide a platform for members to create, manage, and a develop a financial network online.

Two new business ventures in less than five years might keep some of us busy—but Kelly still finds time to give back to the community by serving on the Board of Directors of the Woodland Park Zoo, Seafair, and Washington State University’s CEREO (Center for Environmental Research, Education and Outreach) in his spare time.

His passions lie in learning, community, sustainability and science literacy—and its obvious from his activities that he is pretty good at following his bliss.

When’s he’s not solving problems, spending time with his incredible family and friends, or breaking a sweat at his newest infatuation, Cross-Fit, you might find him saving the world in the form of advising the White House President’s Council of Advisory on Science and Technology on issues related to Advanced Manufacturing. All in a day’s work.

About Taylor Moore

Born in Farmville, Virginia (much cooler than the Facebook game), but raised in Olympia, Taylor graduated from University of Washington with a B.A in Communications and Sociology. She’s a major foodie and loves trying new restaurants and new food, and is also passionate about traveling the globe — just like her idol, Anthony Bourdain. When she’s not writing, eating, lustfully wandering Nordstrom or J. Crew, or looking up cat videos on YouTube, you might find Taylor jet-setting around to sunnier skies whenever she gets the opportunity.
