Why We Heart Them
Caroline is a local journalist with global ambitions. She is the founder of Earthwalkers Magazine & Social Network, a media platform that promotes local city bloggers and travel writers from around the world, while connecting like-minded individuals so that they can share and inspire each other to experience the world for themselves.
Earthwalkers Magazine is a hybrid of first-person travel stories and city blogs written by members of the Earthwalker social network. The print edition will be distributed in backpacking hostels around the world in mid 2011.
Her passion for news, music and art has become her hobby, but when she’s not hunting for global stories, Caroline serves as the co-VP of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) – Seattle Chapter, a non-profit that helps Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the media industry, is also on the Board of Directors at SafeFutures Youth Center in West Seattle, a non-profit organization that serves at-risk minority youth, as well as serves on the advisory board at Take Bak Your Time/Sustainable Seattle, a nonprofit that promotes sustainability in the Central Puget Sound.
“I like talking about the issues of our world and finding the stories of those affected,” I also have an affinity for music and would really like to pick up an instrument again so that I have an hobby outside of work.
