The Radar: Seattleite’s Food Truck Favs

With everything from gourmet sandwiches to high-tech chilled treats, Seattle’s street eat scene is redefining the term “fast food.” Here’s a quick round-up of our favorite meals on wheels. Happy trails!

Buns on the Run

The Chow-Down Low-Dowm: For carnivorous cravings, BUNS is the haute-ist meat on the street. Bite into juicy premium, natural, certified grass-fed beef burgers with all the gourmet fixings. Partial to poultry? Check out the Birdy ($12), a free range all natural chicken fillet stacked with bacon, crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, and basil mayo.

Pit Stop:  View BUNS’ scheduled times and locations, or cheat with online ordering.

Icy Conditions Ahead

The Chow-Down Low-Down: Rekindle your childhood obsession with the ice cream man with Street Treats, a decidedly adult alternative. Build your own ice cream sandwiches with a rotating selection of cookies and cream that is made fresh every day, or sip on a DrySoda float (try the blood orange).

Pit Stop: For a full, updated list of locations, check out their Twitter and Facebook pages.

We Will Tac You

The Chow-Down Low-Down: Bored of the typical taco? Try Fusion on the Run. The brainchild of Hawaiian-born owner Seaman, this truck serves up delicious and inventive versions of the Mexican favorite. The coco chicken, stuffed with zingy ginger slaw, is the perfect surfer snack.

Pit Stop: Peep the jam-packed schedule here.
