RECAP: Sofi Tukker, Kah-Lo, LP Giobbi @ The Showbox
A balmy Sunday evening was perhaps the perfect time for the island-themed ‘Treehouse World Tour’ featuring Sofi Tukker, Kah-Lo, and LP Giobbi to The Showbox. By 7:30 pm on Sunday, May 20th, twenty-and-thirty-somethings were winding their way into the venue, with neon bands and cool kicks, ready to bring the house down. (more…)

Culture Dose: Tunes to Come
Planning for a full season of music at the zoo and beyond. Recently there have been plenty of roster unveilings for exciting events ranging from the Seattle International Film Festival (taking place May 18 to June 11, tickets on sale now) to Timber! Local Opera Singers and Classical Musicians to Perform at Puerto Rico Benefit on April 28th
Together, the La Isla Foundation and Opera on Tap Seattle will co-sponsor a concert, Canciones para Puerto Rico (“Songs for Puerto Rico” in Spanish), taking place this Saturday, April 28th at 7:30 p.m. to sponsor and provide supplies for two patient rooms in a free clinic in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. A sensational Swede returns this August—and other can’t-miss shows. Daniel Norgren—an otherworldly “Swede with soul”—is returning to the U.S. this summer, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. This incredible talent will be back at Pickathon in early August (a dream come true), before heading up to Ballard’s Tractor for two shows (with Phil Cook) on August 7 and 8. Culture Dose: Q+A With Noah Gundersen
A treasured Washington talents shifts gears to get back on track.  This past September, local artist Noah Gundersen released his third studio album, a 13-track compilation called “White Noise.” Commenting on this huge departure from some of his earlier work, EARMILK noted that, “Noah Gundersen has traded in his traditional acoustic crooning for something a little louder and edgier.” Entertainment Weekly observed, “Moving away from the confessional, singer-songwriter fare that made up his first two LPs, he began treading in more ambiguous, metaphorical waters.” (more…)
