Style File: Fashion Designer and Philanthropist Rachel Roy at Nordstrom Flagship

Fashion meets philanthropy this Thursday evening when acclaimed women’s fashion designer and activist, Rachel Roy, celebrates the launch of her new shoe collection at Downtown Nordstrom.

Rachel Roy is a triple threat fashion creative, originally starting out as a fashion stylist to the likes of Diane Sawyer and First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama as well as writing for InStyle Magazine and The Huffington Post.

Since 2005, Roy has become one of the country’s leading fashion designers, expanding her women’s wear brand to also include handbags, jewelry and shoes. Incorporated into her business model are Rachel’s international philanthropic initiatives: OrphanAid for Africa and Heart of Haiti, as well as a local effort to gives back to the communities she visits for guest appearances. On the day of the Seattle event, Rachel Roy will donate 10% of sales to the Pacific Northwest Ballet Backstage Pass program.

Attendees will be among the first to view the Rachel Roy Shoe and Dress Salon Collection, and those who make a Rachel Roy purchase of $250 or more will receive a limited edition Rachel Roy t-shirt (while supplies last).
