Music Madness: The Naked and Famous

Passive me, naked you.

Check em Out: The Naked and Famous began as a meetcute between composer/writer Thom Powers and lyricist Alisa Xayalith at music school back in 2008. The two New Zealanders were approached by a few independent labels after feverishly sending electro pop demos around town and recruited three other Aucklandites to perform live around the country.

Their first album “Passive Me Aggressive You” was released in 2010 and hit # 1 on the New Zealand chart and their first single and claim to fame Young Blood has spawned the worldwide fan obsession today. Their success has rapidly progressed over the past two years and they humbly have dedicated their eminence to inspiration from sensations like Nine Inch Nails, Tool and Tv On the Radio among others. Due to high demand, they’ve been adding additional dates to their spring US tour and Seattleites couldn’t be happier their making a stop to hit the Sodo stage through their tour De Northwest.

When: Tuesday, April 24th at Showbox Sodo. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Tickets: From $25 here.
