Music Madness: Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival

Many Seattleites take off Labor Day Weekend and flock to campsites, boating trips, and wonderful nooks and crannies of the Pacific Northwest to enjoy their mini vaycay three day weekend. But if you’re staying in town this year, don’t miss out on the Bumbershoot 2012 Festival.

From Passion Pit to Hey Marseilles to Big Sean to Tony Bennet? Whatever style you enjoy, this year’s lineup will certainly satisfy the entire family.

Bumbershoot is Seattle’s biggest music and arts festival, and this year mark’s it’s 42nd anniversary at the Seattle Center. Beginning in the 70′s, Bumbershoot has seduced locals by showcasing some of the best artists, musicians, films, comedies, dance performers, theater, visual arts you name it they got it, and quite a few of the acts were born right here, just like you and me.

The festivities takes place over Labor Day weekend year after year on 74 acres of the Seattle Center grounds, drawing over 100,000 people over the weekend. This year’s line up includes those crowd pleasing artists listed above, as well as Gotye, AWOLNATION, comedic performers Nick Swardson and Kiro’s best Radio Show Too Beautiful to Live and many many more shows you don’t want to miss.

When: Saturday September 1st- Monday September 3rd, shows generally running from 11:00am-12:15am (last act begins at 12:15am on Saturday and Sunday)

Ticket: Bumbershoot Festival tickets run $45 for one day, $125 for the 3 day pass here. If you’re feeling VIP, you can purchase the GOLD pass for Sunday or Monday (Saturday and 3-Day Passes sold out), allowing VIP access to venues, lounges, reserved seating, and other lavish amenities.
