Check em’ out:

What happens when two music aficionados become friends while working together at an independent record store in Australia? Apparently, it’s indie-rock duo An Horse, a force (or horse) to be reckoned with.

Coming off of their second album, “Walls,” the music of An Horse has evolved into a different animal; vibrant, thought-out tunes get your limbs moving with a combination of brilliant percussion and the fusion of quirky, yet synchronized vocals.

Like a mix of Tegan and Sara with a dash of Snow Patrol, the lyrics speak about complicated relationships and being away from loved ones. The outcome is both emotional and upbeat at the same time, which allows the listener to enjoy a variety of songs without feeling weighed down or over-stimulated. It goes without saying that show attendees looking for an act with a little bit of everything will find solace in the company of An Horses’ demure indie-pop.

An Horse will be joined by True Holland and Man Without Wax at Friday’s show.

Where They’ll Be:

With low ceilings and stages, El Corazon is an punk rock gem so intimate that you’ll probably get hit with sweat from the drummer’s forehead. This no-frills venue consistently doles out reasonably priced shows featuring spectacular bands with loyal followings. You’ll be immersed in Seattle’s original music scene with enough breathing room for moshing and a separate bar area for re-hydrating. Well, if you can call it that.
