Pacific Northwest Ballet pays tribute to the city that has launched the Company to what it is today.
Join PNB in a special one night accolade to Seattle and its celestial history. Celebrate Seattle is an evening of intergalactic themed music, dance, video features, and celebrity guests.
Featuring a rare on stage performance by the PNB Orchestra; special guest’s including, NASA Astronaut’s, Curiosity Mars rover flight director Bobak Ferdowsi (aka “Mohawk Guy”), and Star Trek’s Lt. Uhura herself, Nichelle Nichols. Musical selections include, Back to the Future (Silvestri), Star Trek (Courage), and Firebird Suite (Stravinsky) to name a few. Accompaniments to the music and dance, a video history of Pacific Northwest Ballet, the building of the Seattle World’s Fair, and video of the NASA Curiosity Mars landing.
Come early for hands on astronomy activities hosted by the teens from Pacific Science Center’s youth development program Discovery Corps. Stay after for special panel discussions, ”From Hollywood to Mars: A look at how 1960′s Science Fiction invented the future of Space Exploration.”
