Fabulous French pastries and custom cakes.

In this edition of Food Porn, we feature Midori Bakery, an adorable gourmet French bakery located in Redmond. They provide an array of delicious pastries in the shop, cater for Januik Winery, and other private events, but also have booths at the Saturday Bellevue farmer’s market and the Wednesday Kirkland farmer’s market. Tucked away in an office park, you’ll have to follow the signs to find it, but it’s well worth it.

Walking inside, there is a display case featuring all the fabulous pastries. White Nectarine Tart was one of our favorites. White Nectarine isn’t often used in baking, but these were the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Strawberry-Rhubarb Cream Cheese Croissant has a crunchy exterior, and a flaky, rich interior that melts in your mouth. Think banana bread with pockets of Nutella all wrapped up in lamented layers of buttery goodness and you get the Banana-Nutella Croissant.

Cinnamon Rolls aren’t hard to find, but these are by far the best we’ve had in a long time. The roll itself was soft and moist, the cinnamon and frosting was just the right amount. I wasn’t wishing for more or less. I’d order a dozen of these! With fall rolling in, the Pumpkin Coffee Cake complements your morning coffee, with flavorful warm spices, a crunchy streusel, and a soft and moist cake.

The Ham and Cheese Croissant uses quality ingredients and is a tasty savory breakfast or lunch item. Soft Handmade pretzels, Tomato Basil Croissants, puffy, light Brioche Buns, and more!
