Food Porn: Brunch at Capitol Cider

This brunch is pretty awesome.

Capitol Cider offers brunch on the weekends with a menu ranging from steak & eggs to pork schnitzel or something sweet, or more of a lunch item. Pair it with the casual atmosphere and great service and this establishment easily makes its way to one of my favorite brunch spots. On sunny days, their patio is open and offers great people watching at their location on Pike and Broadway.

Lamb Shank Hash.

Eggs Benedict with scalloped potatoes, spinach, tomato, and hollandaise. They were out of spinach, but the kale replacement was amazing. Slather anything with hollandaise and I’ll eat it.

Lamb Shank Hash with poached eggs, potatoes, banana peppers, and dandelion greens was our favourite. The lamb was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The potatoes were crisp and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The Burger with blue cheese, house bacon, bbq sauce, and fries. We opted for this on gluten free buns and it wasn’t bad! It’s the best gluten free bun we’ve had in Seattle so far. While not always a fan of blue cheese, it worked well here against the salty bacon and bbq sauce. The fries were stellar—just the way I like them.

For those who prefer a sweeter breakfast, there is a Banana Bread French Toast served with peach butter and maple butter that will satisfy. For breakfast purists, there is the Simple Breakfast with two eggs, bacon, sausage or avocado, toast, and breakfast potatoes.
