Make your way to Central Oregon for the ultimate Northwest getaway.
Two things are likely to happen once you set foot on the breathtaking 1,800-acre spread of Central Oregon’s Brasada Ranch: first, you’ll instantly feel relaxed, care-free, and energized by your incredibly beautiful surroundings. Second, you’ll proceed to their real estate office to ‘inquire’ about the available listings at the ranch, which was named the 2007 Community of the Year by “Builder Magazine.” You know, just in case you might never want to leave.
From the moment you walk into the Ranch House Lodge — where you’ll find the concierge, restaurant (one of two), suites and a conference room — you are warmly welcomed by the hospitable staff. Not to mention a crackling fireplace, flanked by rich wood floors and an inviting cobblestone hearth.
Located a few miles east from the city of Bend, this premier resort offers two lodging options: Ranch House Lodge Suites or the Sage Canyon Cabins. Both provide spectacular views of the surrounding High Desert as well at the Cascades. Nearly all of the private cabins are outfitted with their own hot tub, as well as an expansive wrap-around deck, gourmet kitchen, soaring ceilings and plush leather couches. These cabins are perfect for families, large groups (cabin’s may be booked in close proximity to one another) or couples looking for a little extra privacy.
One thing is for sure: you will never be bored at Brasada — relaxed, happy and invigorated, yes, but bored? Never, and neither will the kids. Irresistible guest amenities and activities include a golf course designed by Peter Jacobsen, 17,000-square-foot athletic center, state-of-the-art spa and exceptional equestrian center. Meanwhile, the “lazy river,” outdoor pool and water slide, regularly scheduled outdoor activities, games and arts and crafts will keep the kids entertained.
Hungry? We hope so. Brasada has two fantastic farm-to-fork restaurants from Executive Chef Adrian Carpenter, and both serve up fresh, local ingredients in hearty and delicious ways that will keep you coming back for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Ranch House Restaurant is Brasada’s casual choice. Savory skillets and frittatas are served for breakfast. During lunch and dinner hours, panini, wood-fired pizzas, a variety of artisan cheeses and baked specialties such as ranch house mac ‘n’ cheese and buffalo meatloaf are available.
After the meal, grab a Central Oregon microbrew or a cup of espresso and step out onto to the restaurant’s wrap-around deck for s’mores by the cozy stone fireplace.
At Brasada’s signature fine dining option, Range Restaurant and Bar, you’ll enjoy course after course of Chef Adrian’s culinary mastery. The food is exquisite, the service exceptional and the atmosphere intimate and inviting. Paralyzed by too many delicious menu options? We recommend the sweet potato agnolotti, paired with tuscan kale, fresh sage, and an apple-parmesan broth—delicate yet so, so, savory–and the organic beef tenderloin, easily one of the best cuts of meat you will have the pleasure of devouring. During the meal, take in the breath-taking view of a ranch sunset (hopefully accompanied by their divine Brasada Sunset cocktail).
Brasada Ranch is the picture of unparalleled and unmatched rustic elegance and the quintessential winter escape. Be warned though — one trip is not enough.
