Weekend Getaway Recap: Devour! Osoyoos
If you haven’t heard of Osoyoos, British Columbia before, you’re not the only one. We didn’t hear about Osoyoos until Devour! Canada’s only desert climate produces some dank-ass wine (yes, we said it) that gives Washington state a run for its money. Devour! Osoyoos brought us five hours northeast of the border to partake in a delectable celebration of some of British Columbia’s top chefs, wineries, and filmmakers in a spectacular weekend getaway experience. Their professional driver service launched in the Western Washington region earlier this year. Devour! The World’s Largest Culinary Film Fest Returns to Osoyoos, BC May 5-7
If the combination of Seattle’s infamous rainfall and our country’s current political climate have fueled your need for escapism and wanderlust, Devour! The Film Fest may be just what you need. In 2009, Chef Michael Howell hosted the inaugural event in Nova Scotia to pay tribute to exquisite cuisine, cinema, and viticulture (the science, production, and study of grapes). Its cross-country expansion to Osoyoos (o-soo-ews), British Columbia last year proved wildly successful. Tom Douglas’ 2016 Lawn Party & Croquet Tournament Event Registration Opens
Tom Douglas and his flagship restaurant Dahlia Lounge are excited to announce that tickets are now available for the 2016 Lawn Party & Croquet Tournament. In its fifth year, this event is open to the public and will be held on Sunday, August 14 at the South Lake Union Discovery Center. A benefit for Food Lifeline, this year’s event looks to surpass last year’s fundraising goal of $100,000. With support from generous sponsors and from croquet teams and spectator tickets, the event hopes to raise over $150,000. (more…)
Taste Oregon Coming to Seattle On Monday March 21st
Join City Fruit and Seattle Uncorked for the first ever Taste Oregon, an evening celebrating Oregon wines on Monday, March 21st! 40 wineries from all across Oregon will be joined by local Seattle food trucks in an event benefiting City Fruit. Neko Cat Café coming to Capitol Hill this Spring
Seattle’s love for the kitty cafe concept shows no signs of slowing down with the announcement of a third cafe opening up this spring in Capitol Hill. Neko Cat Café’s founder and self-proclaimed head cat lady, Caitlin Unsell’s idea is to create “the kind of place where you bring your friends for happy hour and your niece on Saturday morning.” (more…)
